How can I find articles for my assignment?

Answer

We recommend starting with the catalog, which you can find by going to the library website and clicking on Catalog. The library catalog search box will retrieve both books and articles on your desired topic. The catalog connects to most of our database subscriptions, so those search results will appear when searching the general catalog. Depending on your topic, there are also lots of databases available to access directly. Go to the library website and select the Research Databases link in the middle of the page. There is a dropdown box to filter the databases by subject to help you find the best fit for your topic. You might also go to our Research Guides where you will see choice databases to search by subject area.

Most instructors require the use of peer reviewed articles. This means the article was reviewed by experts in the field and approved before publication. To filter your search results to show peer-reviewed articles only, click the checkbox on the left hand side of the results screen labeled "Peer-Reviewed."
